Children's privacy & COPPA

Only a parent or guardian can create a LoopedIn account. Children never have their own login, email, or password. A child is a managed profile under the parent’s account — identified by a first name and an age group only. Parents add children, set content filters, review activity, and can remove a profile and its data at any time.

Before a child profile is active, we obtain verifiable parental consent. When billing opens, this uses a payment-card authorization — a COPPA-recognized consent method — which confirms an adult is setting up the account. We collect the minimum information needed to run the service.

We do not run advertising to children, do not sell children’s data, and do not build advertising or behavioral profiles of children. Analytics are never placed on children’s reading screens. We record only what a parent needs to see their child’s reading activity (which stories were opened, quiz results, and streaks).

Children’s reading history is retention-limited — we keep recent activity to power the parent dashboard and delete older records automatically. Parents can request deletion of a child’s profile and associated data at any time, which removes it from our systems.

You can review the information associated with your child’s profile, ask us to delete it, and refuse further collection by removing the profile or closing the account. To make a request, contact us at [contact email — to be finalized].
