Privacy policy
This policy explains what we collect and why. Children's privacy has additional protections described on our COPPA page.
What we collect
From parents: the email address and password used to create the account, and billing details handled by our payment processor (we never store full card numbers). For each child profile a parent adds: a first name, an age group, and the content-filter settings the parent chooses.
From use of the service: which stories a child opened, quiz results, and reading streaks — the activity a parent sees in their dashboard. We do not place advertising or behavioral trackers on children’s screens.
How we use it
To operate the service: authenticate parents, serve each child the right age-appropriate edition, apply the parent’s filters, show reading activity, and process subscriptions. We use limited, privacy-respecting analytics on parent-facing pages only, to understand and improve the product.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run LoopedIn — hosting, database, payment processing, and email — each bound to handle data on our behalf. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share children’s information for advertising.
AI and your content
We use AI models to help produce our news stories from verified facts. We do not send children’s personal information to those models, and we work with providers under terms that do not train their models on our data.
Retention & deletion
Children’s reading history is automatically trimmed over time. You can delete a child profile or close your account at any time; contact us at [contact email — to be finalized] to make a data request.
